INTRAMUSCULAR STIMULATION / DRY NEEDLING

IMS is a dry needling (no substance is injected) technique that uses acupuncture needles to reduce adverse tone in tight muscle bands or trigger points that contribute to pain and dysfunction.  By targeting localized areas of tightness with the needle insertion, a reflex relaxation is produced in the muscle.  IMS re-establishes optimal nerve and muscle function thereby restoring normal mobility.  This type of treatment is very effective for chronic pain conditions and recurring injuries as it gets to the cause of the problem.  Special assessment is done prior to determine if this is a modality of treatment that is appropriate for you.
