Kinesiology & Active Rehab

Kinesiologists are university trained health professionals who specialize in human movement. With their in-depth knowledge of the human body and how it moves, they apply exercise and movement science to promote health and wellbeing.

Our kinesiologists are registered with the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK). They work both independently and collaboratively with our physiotherapists to help clients reach optimal recovery from injuries, including those sustained from a motor vehicle accident.

Following an initial assessment, our experienced kinesiologist will design an individualized exercise program based on your findings and goals. He/she will then work with you one to one educating, encouraging and empowering you to improve your mobility, strength and general conditioning.

If you have been in a motor vehicle accident, ICBC will cover the cost of 12 pre-authorized kinesiology sessions within the first 12 weeks from the date of your crash without ICBC pre-approval. At Empower Physiotherapy, this benefit is fully covered with no user fee to you. This active rehab program will give you a structured and tailored program to get you back to the things you love!
